our laura x

Recently Laura was interviewed for Global Blue, so I thought I would share it with you.

Dominique xx

Where were you born?
Camden.

Where do you live?
Bloomsbury.

What’s best about your neighbourhood?
It’s right in the middle of London
and is lovely and green.

If money was no object, where would you live?
On the Thames near Richmond
or in Aix-en-Provence.

What’s your favourite London neighbourhood?
Soho – it’s all going on there.

Which are your favourite London stores?
Selfridges, as it is full to the brim of fabulous things, Bluebird on the King’s Road for more fantastic shopping, and Camisa, the Italian deli on Old Compton Street.

And your favourite restaurants?
I love St John on St John Street, Mon Plaisir on Monmouth Street and J Sheekey off St Martin’s Lane for their fantastic food and convivial atmosphere.

Do you have a favourite local café or pub?
The Monmouth coffee house on Monmouth Street. And the Cow on Westbourne Park Road is a great pub for excellent food and Guinness.

Where do you take out-of-town friends?
Into town for drinks and dinner, or to Kew Gardens or out of London to any of the many National Trust properties.

Where do you like to celebrate?
The bar at the Covent Garden Hotel is very cosy and charming and for a bit of glamour you can’t beat the cocktails at the Savoy.

Do you have a favourite walk?
The Thames towpath in Richmond, or sauntering around Hampstead Heath is always a joy.

How do you like to travel around the city?
On foot or in a black taxi; I love our cabs.

Which do you think is London’s best museum?
Tough decision.
Either the V&A or the British Museum.

Can you reveal any secret spots?
The Chelsea Physic Garden, a tranquil, delightful oasis.

Any advice for visitors?
Do not go to Madame Tussauds
– the queue is horrific!

What can’t you live without?
My sons, my friends and my team at Laura Lee Jewellery, plus caffeine. Oh, and red wine!
