Laura recently made a bespoke necklace for Vogue's Abba story, featuring the delightful Lara Stone. We were quite taken aback when we saw the final images.
The resemblance between Lara and Agnetha is uncanny. love love love! x

Vivian Maier
I want to share with you the story of the extremely talented Vivian Maier.
Vivian Maier was a Chicago-based nanny
who spent her spare time wandering the streets with her Rolleiflex,
taking snapshots of street life around her.
An American of French and Austro-Hungarian extraction, Maier travelled between Europe and the United States before settling in New York City in 1951. Having picked up a camera just two years earlier, she combed the streets of the Big Apple refining her artistic craft. In 1956 Maier left the East Coast for Chicago, where she spent most of her remaining life working as a nanny. She continued shooting well into the 1990s, amassing a collection of over 100,000 negatives.
Maier’s massive body of work came to light when in 2007 her work was discovered at a local thrift auction house on Chicago’s Northwest Side. From there, it eventually made an impact the world over and changed the life of the man who championed her work and brought it to the public eye, John Maloof.

x cross stitch x
I designed our new window display this week to correspond with the launch of our AW11 collection 'We are all made of Stars'.
I wanted to do something clean and muted,
after my last window display of the
My inspiration came from the engraved circles and cross on my favourite piece in the collection, the globe coin.
I used different natural fabrics to cover
our display boxes and then cross stitched
the jewellery on to them.
The decals on the window are from
Supernice on Columbia Road.

red shoes, no knickers
We have a little secret here at LLJ
that we are quite reluctant to share.........
.........red shoes, no knickers
This is the genius website by the gorgeous Andrea Donovan (our Rea) that guides us in the ever confusing world of fashion.
She will give us tips and guidelines on how 'to shop your own wardrobe', helping us create wonders out of what lies in the depths of our wardrobes and also how to charity shop
(chazzer shazzer, as Rea calls it).
(chazzer shazzer, as Rea calls it).
If you are still a little confused by it all and cannot bear the thought of diving in,
Rea also offers a wardrobe detox
Rea also offers a wardrobe detox
where she will come over to your place and
'tackle the mystery that is your wardrobe'.
We love her, you will too.

our laura x
Recently Laura was interviewed for Global Blue, so I thought I would share it with you.
Dominique xx
Where were you born?
Camden.
Where do you live?
Bloomsbury.
What’s best about your neighbourhood?
It’s right in the middle of London
and is lovely and green.
If money was no object, where would you live?
On the Thames near Richmond
or in Aix-en-Provence.
What’s your favourite London neighbourhood?
Soho – it’s all going on there.
Which are your favourite London stores?
Selfridges, as it is full to the brim of fabulous things, Bluebird on the King’s Road for more fantastic shopping, and Camisa, the Italian deli on Old Compton Street.
And your favourite restaurants?
I love St John on St John Street, Mon Plaisir on Monmouth Street and J Sheekey off St Martin’s Lane for their fantastic food and convivial atmosphere.
Do you have a favourite local café or pub?
The Monmouth coffee house on Monmouth Street. And the Cow on Westbourne Park Road is a great pub for excellent food and Guinness.
Where do you take out-of-town friends?
Into town for drinks and dinner, or to Kew Gardens or out of London to any of the many National Trust properties.
Where do you like to celebrate?
The bar at the Covent Garden Hotel is very cosy and charming and for a bit of glamour you can’t beat the cocktails at the Savoy.
Do you have a favourite walk?
The Thames towpath in Richmond, or sauntering around Hampstead Heath is always a joy.
How do you like to travel around the city?
On foot or in a black taxi; I love our cabs.
Which do you think is London’s best museum?
Tough decision.
Either the V&A or the British Museum.
Can you reveal any secret spots?
The Chelsea Physic Garden, a tranquil, delightful oasis.
Any advice for visitors?
Do not go to Madame Tussauds
– the queue is horrific!
What can’t you live without?
My sons, my friends and my team at Laura Lee Jewellery, plus caffeine. Oh, and red wine!
